Internal fields when creating a new custom entity in dynamics CRM?

Hi everyone.

I have created some custom entities in Dynamics CRM 2015.

I have noticed that a number of internal fields are created automatically when creating a new entity.

Does anybody know where they are documented ?

Some of them are self explanatory (e.g. CreatedOn, CreatedBy ....) and can be used in forms.

But there are some that seems to be completely internal , and cannot be used in forms or views (they donot appear in the selection lists)

Based on the names of the fields, I could be interested in using some of them (herunder ImportSequencenumber and VersiunNmber) - but I can't find any documentation of them (and they migt mean something else than I anticipate)

And how can I get access to them fur usage in e.g. a form or a report?

/Tom Persson

I'm pretty sure the answer is "you cannot".  Those specific fields (ImportSequenceNumber and VersionNumber) are used for bulk imports so that the bulk import can be rolled back if necessary.

You may be able to 'read' from them in the SDK, but that's probably it.

As Chris wrote before, this fields related to Import Data process. If you interested more you can find additional information from JoeCRM's post

If you are needing to store this kind of information, better aproach to create your own fields for it

You cannot import the VersionNumber field because this is used for change tracking - but you can import the ImportSequenceNumber field - it is very useful for mapping parent/child records together.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

Could you please name a few of the fields which you are interested in using on a form/report ?

    Thanks!
