Error occured in retail server call while setting up Retail Hardware Station Merchant Information

Hello,

I am currently trying to install a retail hardware station on my laptop.

Everything looks good until I reach the merchant information page. There I get an error on top that says: "Error occurred in retail server call."error-.JPG

I cannot select any stores to connect to and therefor cannot complete the installation. Refreshing and restarting the computer does not help.

Health check during installation was OK and also PING was successful.

My AAD Account is administrator on our test environment.

There was an MPOS installed on the devices earlier, which was removed/deinstalled before the installation of the shared hardware station.

So far I have tried the HardwareStationSetup /Retail hardware Station package - Microsoft Hotfix release Version number: 10.0.319.10005 did not work.

After installing this package and restarting the system I tried the HardwareStationSetup Core Retail hardware station package 10.0.9039.64658, which also did not work.

Does anybody know the difference between the Core package and the hotfix package?

Can somebody please help me out with the merchant information problem?

    Hello 

    There should be some more details in the logs file. You can go and check the log files shown in the error message. You can attach that logs here so we will get more information about the issue.

    hi thnks for your quick reply. unfortunately the folder where the log files are supposed to be stored does not exist on my computer. otherwise I would have posted the logs here.

    Have you check event viewer for respective errors (Microsoft->Dynamcis->Commerce-RetailServer)?

    You can install Fiddler on the retail server and check what API is getting failed.  I believe it should be related to some configuration with respect to the hardware station. To identify those we should know either error message or retail API which is failing.

    Hi, what platform version of retail are you working with?

    After 10.0.6 you do not need to use Merchant tool - POS can do this job by itself and Merchant tool does not work anymore.

    Hello everyone and thanks for your answers.

    The error occured because we used an account that for some reasons did not seem to have all necessary rights. When we did use our primary admin account the merchant information tool worked just fine. But now it seems not necessary any more anyways. Thanks for the update!
