Apps not appearing on dynamics home page

Hi Guys,

ive build a new UI app but for some reason its not appearing for all users on the dynamics homepage: https://home.dynamics.com/

I did what was suggested on another post of removing all roles from my access, saving, syncing, and then applying the roles again then, syncing etc but nothing changed. Here is a quick video: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/video/2962204?key=7795fe199f8d686be49b209810e48fb3

All seem to be on the right instance as well.

Im lost.

THank you for your time.

In order for users to view apps, they must have a security role with app permissions.

I am having the same issue, after the licenses changes I'm getting the same issue users can't see any of the side bar or menus when opening an app. if I get a user to open the link tenant.crm11.dynamics.com/main.aspx it shows one custom app that isn't and of the apps that are shared with them.

Just to add to this, I have looked at alot of online posts and they are all pointing back to the ensuring the security role for the user has the model driven app tagged as read. I have this in place also, still no apps appearing for the user.

    Hi Sarah,

I am still expierencing an issue with users not being able to see the correct app. While copying the URL for the new app onto the affected user does bring the user to the correct app, it also shows a message which advises the user to choose an app for the best expierence. When the user goes to pick an app from the app page the new app that I created doesnt appear.

The new app that I have created is shared with all roles also so Im not sure why this isnt working.

See above my message with screenshots which show the message and the app page that the user sees.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for your reply, so just to confirm, your users are now able to see the apps successfully from office.com/apps ?

If that solved the issue for your users, I kindly ask you to mark Ana's response above as Answer to help other community members as well.

    Thank you for your message.

Ive tried those points out, thank you, here are my findings.

When I copy the URL for the new UI app that i created it works for the affected user, however, there is a message across the top of the page advising me to select an app for the best viewing experience.

When I click on "Choose an App" it takes me to app page where the original app is available only and not the new one I made even though it is shared with user.

If the user continues working without out choosing an app I have some users experiencing difficulties.

All of the above was tested in a private window as well, same result.

Not sure what is causing this issue.

RE: Apps not appearing on dynamics home page

    Hello Jason!

adding a quick note about https://home.dynamics.com

Effective March 2020, the home page for Dynamics 365 applications (https://home.dynamics.com) is deprecated and won't be available on or after April 1, 2021. The Microsoft 365 apps page (https://www.office.com/apps) will replace it and provide users with a single page for productivity and business applications.

Dynamics 365 Home users will see notification about the new location and recommendation to change browser bookmarks starting October 1, 2020. On or after April 1, 2021, users will no longer be able to navigate to https://home.dynamics.com from the Office 365 applications list or the Office 365 application launcher. After May 2021, users who navigate to https://home.dynamics.com will automatically be redirected to https://www.office.com/apps with a business application filter applied.

RE: Apps not appearing on dynamics home page

    Hi Jason,

Thank you for sharing your question on communities.

Can you try accessing the page: example.crm.dynamics.com/apps with your affected user? Make sure to replace the url with your organization url. Check which apps are you able to see there.

Another test you can do is also to check the access for this user using: example.crm.dynamics.com/.../msdyn_AppAccessChecker.html. Run this page as admin user, you can type the user id of affected user and it will show which apps should be visible to that user and why.

You can also try to access the direct link for the affected app using the affected user and check what errors you will see there, it can be a good pointer to the root cause.

I also recommend trying "In-private browsing" and confirming the behavior there, just to avoid any unexpected caching issues.

    Hope that helps
