Filtering contact entity on modifiedon

I am trying to retrieve records where modifiedon is greater than the previous time (I'm storing the max modifiedon value). The response is coming back with a malformed XML.

Can you filter on modifiedon using the same DateTime format?

I tried to filter the modifiedon with the following filter condition and it works fine. Can you post your filter FetchXML and how you use max modifiedon value in the Xml (together with the malformed XML)?
