How do I install a client in GP 10?

Hi,

I have installed Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 Business Essentials Trial Software that I downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=01fb6157-0a4d-407a-afe0-de03af95c6b6. It all worked fine and runs good when I run it with Win Server 2003 as second server in SBS 2008. But how do I install it on a client PC so that I can try out this properly before we purchase GP 10?

Thankful for any help.

I managed in the end. :-) All it tock was to restart the PC with the client on it.

By the way it looks like you can have up to 10 clinet in the trial. But we only test on one PC. Then if we like GP we will get the full version. So far I like what I see. :-)

ALL ODBCs used to access GP from the server and ANY workstation must be named the same.  The ODBC name is used to encrypt and decrypt the password.  Confirm the ODBCs are the same and then re-set the user passwords.  This of course assumes that attempts to login with the SA user id and password do work.

I think I'm half way there. I copied the ODBC as it is set up on the server and now it lets me install GP on the client. But when I try to log in and I pick the database at the login of GP it wont let me log in?

    Please advice.

I don't know how many users the trial version will support but here is a thumbnail of the client install:

    1.  Create an ODBC on the client with the same name as the other ODBC's on your server.  Point to the server hosting the db.

    2.  Install from the DVD/File just like you installed the original version.  Run the Utilites then launch GP.

    3.  Then call a partner and order your licensed copy!  If you are near Florida, try Integrated Business Group at 407-677-0370
