MS Dynamics AX - How to handle Free Sample of Items

What is the best way to deal with the free sample of items in Dynamics AX? is it pratical to have the real item and samples within the same item number or we have to separate them.

Hi Mohamad,
Actually AX 2009 can distiguish costing by warehouse, so if you store the free samples in a speific warehouse which is different from the genreal warehouse, AX won't calculate it's costing into the normal items

Thanks Li for your Reply. But in that case the free samples will affect the average cost and this is not our case.

You can use the same item number, but storage the samples in a different warehouse with 0 unit cost.
