Management Reporter ACCT functionlity

Posted on by 1,075

Hello,

I have a client who has a whole bunch of Trial Balance FRx reports that we migrated over to Management Reporter.  Now that MR uses the dimensions instead of the FRx account string, when I print a Financial Report and use the ACCT column type, I get a whole mess of syntax for the dimensions.  Is there any way possible, without drilling down to the Account level, to display the account as a string instead of a concatenated dimension?  FYI each row is it's own single account, there are no ranges.

Example:

(+Account = [10123], Product = [000], Department = [00] )  rather than just listing the account number  (10123-000-00)

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Mike

Since the link in Char's response is no longer active, thought I would add the instructions here for rookies like me:)

With the report open in the Management Reporter Viewer:

On the menu bar, click View then unmark Dimension Descriptions.

The ACCT column doesn't change. It's an option in the Viewer.

Now that MR2012 is out, how do I change the ACCT column type to use this new  short account codes feature?

    Hi Michael,

This is how the ACCT format was implemented in Management Reporter. Some users like this new format, but many others do not. Because of feedback from the community we will be implementing a short account codes feature that will provide the functionality you need. This will be released in the MR2012 version early next year. Until then you will either need to drop the ACCT column or edit in Excel.

There isn't a great workaround in the short term unfortunately.

    Thanks

    Ryan
