Absolutely. You need win10 pro or better, or windows server 2016.

Won't work on win10 home since Docker needs hyper-v

I do all my Docker stuff (including NAV) on win 10 pro.

I assume Windows 10 Professional and Windows 10 for Workstations is sufficient?

Keep in mind that the BC Docker image is Windows Core OS.

You'll need a Windows machine to run Docker (Linux Docker can only run Linux Docker images. Windows Docker can run both windows and Linux Docker images, though not simultaneously)

Thank you so much for this. This is exactly for what I have been seeking. I will need to read through all the installation and setup instructions but at least now I have a firm starting point.

Absolutely no. With D365BC you can install Docker for Windows and in few minutes create a D365BC container ready to go. This is a standard way for development. Check here for more informations: hub.docker.com/.../dynamics-nav

Docker requires Linux or macOS. Plus I sill need a MSBC license to test. This requires a completely new environment. I need to do more research on this.

No you can create a local Docker sandbox and you don’t need a cloud tenant for that.

Looks like I need to learn a new language. Plus we need to have a D365BC tenant to have a sandbox.

To develop extensions for D365BC you need to use Visual Studio Code and the AL Language extension.

You have to develop on a sandbox, that could be local (docker-based) or online.
