Hello,

Could someone point me into the right direction on a link to a plugin code example to restrict the activities list in the subgrid based on owner, for a example only show activities the user has created unless he is part of the main group the record belongs too then he can see all activities.

Thanks,

-M. Bazaillion

    Hello,

Why do you want to write code when you can resolve this using Security Roles? Just give that "less privileged" user security roles with "User" level access on activities and this will do the trick.

Totally agreed with Andrew. Why should we reinvent the wheel?

This can be done with security roles (if needed other security concepts) itself. No code needed.

If we are missing something, add your complete requirement & why you came to this conclusion.

    Hi All,

I and Bazaillion work in the same project, so let me give a clear picture of the requirement.

    1. Team 1 is the owner of contact A and they create some Activities (Phone Call, Email, Appointment) for Contact A

    2. Team 2, who is not the owner of contact A, also creates some Activities for contact A

    3. By user level permission to Activities, Team 2 can view all their activities and Team 1 can view all their activities in contact A

    4. However, since Team 1 is the owner of contact A, they should be able to view all activities created for contact A, including that of Team 2

That's why we came up with the idea of plugins, as OOTB security won't work here.

    Regards,

    Praveen.
