Hi,

we are having Microsoft Dynamics 365 Version 1612 (9.0.18.12) on-premises environment and configured the apps based on the security roles

we have a requirement that when a user login, based on their security role they need to login (auto redirect) to Unified Interface instead of Classic which we are expecting is the same way as 365 Online V 9.1 behavior

we have tried so many options from settings and others with no luck.

Please provide a supported way to achieve the above requirement AEAP

Thanks in advance,

Shiva

    Hi Emily

    You can't append forceUCI = 1

    Hello Shiva,

This is a known parity gap on Unified Interface on Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement v9.0 on-premise.
This on-premise version is very limited and it has a lot of parity gaps that have been addressed online.

I'm curious as to why you would want to deploy it on-premise and not use the web client instead?

It's important that to consider that the web client on Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement on-premise is NOT deprecated.
This is specifically called out here:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/faqs-transition-unified-interface#how-does-this-move-impact-on-premises-customer-and-what-will-happen-when-the-web-client-is-deprecated-do-web-client-forms-become-unsupported
So the web client will still be supported for them, as long as their on-premise version is supported.
Support lifecycle for every product is detailed here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search

Now in terms of workaround, you might be able to script this. There is no ideal way to do this, but you could hide your JavaScript behind a dummy hidden button display or enable rule in the application ribbon.
That JavaScript would check the current user's security role and redirect them to the right app.
