Hi. We have a mixture of employees using terminal server(s) to access our AX2012 R3 solution, and the rest using AX clients installed on their PCs. Due to licencing constraints, we are considering the removal of Office from our terminal servers. What would be the impact in AX for those employees using terminal services to login to AX?
Regards. James.
Hi James,
For starters, they won't be able to use office functionality like exporting to Excel, editing in Excel (using excel add-in).
The People who are working on Terminal Services will face difficulties since they cannot use Excel Exports , lot of Business users are relying on Excel i think it won't be a good decision. there is two option if you can consider , install volume licese version of office in Terminal Server , or Go For office 365 , Normally User can use same license up to 5 device so user can use same license in Terminal Server too by sign in to Office . You can add remove license any time as you want .
Hope this will help,
Thanks,
Amith Prasanna
