Plant weight vs. out turn weight

Posted on by 280

Hi All,

I'm not familiar working with Dynamics GP and I'm new to its environment. Hope you can help me solving this issue in Dynamics GP

SCENARIO:

Plant weight vs. out turn weight: weight of goods change during shipment thus, weight before shipment varies with weight upon receipt of goods.

QUESTIONS:
how can i monitor the weight of goods before and after shipment? is there any work around that can handle this scenarios?

Thanks and  Regards,
Jhun

    Hi Ian,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, that's exactly what i want. I want to record the pre-shipment weight and the after shipment weight.

I've already used the extender to create new window for plant weight and yes, my client  consider it as one of their alternative solutions. but the only thing is, they prefer to use simple work around that not focusing to use other modifier.

Maybe I can use the SOP Line comment or user define fields for SOP Header.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Jhun

Hi, not sure exactly what you want. Do you want to be able to record the pre shipment weight and post shipment weight on a sale in GP? You could record the weights in the SOP Line comment...or if you have only one sales line per order you could use 2 of the user defined fields on the SOP Header?

Another alternative is to use Extender to build an additional window attached to the SOP Line.

Or you could look at some development - it would be an easy enough modification.

    Best regards,

    Ian.
