Performance Counter Error on Free Text Invoice

Hi Everyone,

When creating a free text invoice, the system throws the following error upon entering the customer:

“The requested Performance Counter is not a custom counter, it has to be initialized as ReadOnly.”

This scenario was working earlier on my local Hyper-V setup, but I started facing this issue after updating my system to the 46 version VHD.

Please let me know if anyone else has encountered this issue and how it was resolved.

    Hi,

Probably the quickest way to find out what's going on, is to use the debugger on your VM.

    Hi Arpitha,

When trying to find details for the error, I can't find labels with the error text in the standard application. Can you check if the error is raised by a customization?
Anyway as suggested by Anton, you can start debugging to find the culprit in your environment.

Hello, found on Issue Search on LCS.
Anyway, for exclude any customization impact i suggest you a debug, but in this case seems standard.

This issue can occur due to several reasons, such as an incomplete platform update ( as in your case), corrupted performance counters, or recent VM patching. I recommend applying the following steps and checking whether this resolves the issue.

    1. Login into a AOS server VM
    2. Click Start type cmd
    3. Right-click “Command Prompt” Run as Administrator
    4. Run this command and wait until it finishes: locdctr /R (Rebuild all performance counters from system backup)

You should see a message like: Info: Successfully rebuilt performance counter setting from system backup store

    1. Then run: WINMGMT.EXE /RESYNCPER (Resync its data with the newly rebuilt performance counters)
    2. After that, restart the VM (or at least restart IIS + D365 services, but reboot is safest)

If you find this answer helpful, please consider verifying the answer. 👍
