Interactive trial balance

So on our old system, we could run a trial balance and it allowed you to drill down on each entry to take you to that entry but on BC we can only seem to draw up a dumb report that has no linking ability.

Is this functionality hidden somewhere, or can it be done through something like Power Bi?

Maybe this will help clarify.

In Business Central, the standard Trial Balance report is a static report with no drill-down. However, for interactive analysis, you can use:

Options:

1. Chart of Accounts → Navigate → G/L Balance/Entries

You can drill down from the Chart of Accounts to see balances and underlying entries.

2. Account Schedules

More flexible than Trial Balance and allows drill-down to entries directly.

3. Power BI

For advanced interactive reports, connect BC to Power BI and build a drill-through trial balance view.

There’s no "interactive trial balance" out of the box like some legacy systems, but these methods give you similar or better functionality.
