Hi,
I need to get all our contacts who have data in the email address 2 field to move their email address to the email address 3 field.
Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do that? I have about 800 contacts to update. So I want to take the data out of email address 2 and paste into email address 3.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. I tried that for a long time, but I just couldnt get it to work. I copied the data from Email address 2 to 3 in the exported file, but I couldnt figure out what fields I needed to have mapped and it ended up either creating new contacts or failing. Thankfully it was only on our Sandbox site! Thanks again, I just created a simple workflow to do it.

I would suggest to use Excel update (you can also use excel online) as also suggested above.

I would recommend using the Excel Export/Import feature to achieve your goal.
1. Do an advanced find to find all contacts that contains data in the email address 2 field
2. Excel Export the results
3. In the excel file cut and paste the values in the address2 field to the address3 field.
4. Import the altered excel file

As for me the easiest way is following:
1. Create on-demand workflow for contact that copies data from Email2 to Email3 and publish it.
2. Use Advanced Find to get list of all contacts where Email2 is populated.
3. Run on-demand workflow for a set of contacts you get on the step 2.

Then you can use the bulk workflow execution tool availble on XrmToolBox, please refer to the link below:
