Employees now working for new GP Company

Background

Due to a sale of assets and the employement contracts all moving to a new company we are being asked to move the payroll over to the new company as well.

As this is year end and all employee records start at ZERO what a great time to get this done.

If it were not for the fact that (1) Project Accounting and (2) Timesheets are populated by Business Portal.

So, here is the challenge.

All Master records for the old company are going to be the basis for the new company - we have that handled.

All Project Accounting records as they are at January 1 will continue - the history and the open transactions move forward - we have that handled.

All Employee records in Canadian Payroll move to the new company - after the year end is processed in the old company - we have that handled

Issue

What do we have to do in PDK / Business Portal in order to get the data from BP to flow to GP in the NEW company.  I know I need to (1) add the new company to BP and make it the default company for all employees from January 1st on (2) I need to change in PDK the company record to point to the new company.

Here is my ask

Is there a way to update the tables in PDK so that I can have the same security settings for the employee in old company copied over to the new company.  There is no change in the Accounting area or Controllership at this time and I am staying on until the final conversion of the data to the new financial system sometime later in 2016 so there is no issue wtih security.  Currently no users access their timesheets via PDK and the only user that does user PDK other than me is very comfortable both with PDK and SQL - so much so that we often work together to resolve many 'stuck' posting issues.

Conclusion

What I am asking for - is there a 'fast' way to replicate the PDK / BP records so that I do not have to touch all 150 employeees in both PDK and BP?

RE: Employees now working for new GP Company

Sorry to say that we had to do all the work manually.

We tried to find a way to do it electronically and nothing worked.

We started in BP users and added the new company and processes to each of the employees as well we set the default to to the new company.

Next was to open each employee in the PDK application and make them seen in the New company, change each password and then same them when completed.

Once each of them was done, we were able to see the new company for each of the users.  Unfortunately we had to do it over about 5 hours of heads down mind blowing boring work on the key board.
