Dear Expert,

Which table do I need to activate log for, in order for me to track user role changes?

I've enabled log for following tables and made changes to test account but changes are not being tracked

  • User security role
  • User log table
I have the same question (0)

    Hi YOG,

Can you share a screenshot of the database log setup wizard and enable also the option to show table names? Then I can verify if you have the correct table. The table which is working for me is Security User Role (SecurityUserRole). The identification details are not showing; only the field details itself. The role is presented with a reference record ID. To translate it to a certain security role, you would need to have a list of the roles including the record IDs.

    Hi folks,

I have the same question, my D365 is on-prem FnO 10.0.43 and I want to track all User Role changes for audit compliance.

I have enabled database logs for SecurityUserRole and SysUserInfo at the table level (first line only) for New Transactions/Update/Delete/Rename.

Now the issue is that after making a role change I can see the database log for it (first line in the screenshot below), but it does not provide any information about the change itself, it just logs that there was a change- - created by, created date and time. There is no information on what the role change was, which user was it for etc.

How do i get the details of the Role change in the database log?

Any light on the subject will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi,
With the new USG, you have the Role audit trail, without you needing to enable the database log.

    Thanks for responding Sohaib,

Is this feature a Cloud only feature (I'm on-premise) and which version onwards is it available?

Which feature are you talking about?
If you are referring to USG, it should be available in all versions (on-prem and cloud).
The only reason I can think of for it not being available in your system is that the feature is not enabled, which you can turn on from Feature Management
