A G/L account is setup with a dimension code mandatory for "cost centre" dimension,

if we use that account for recurring method "Balance by dimension", the system validates the dimension and ask to include a dimension. But we can not enter a dimension with "balance by dimension" recurring method selected. The system throws error saying that we can not select a dimension with "balance by dimension" recurring method selected.

Scenarion is the client wants to allocate balance of the G/L account posted with a certain cost centre value to different cost centre values. This G/L account is setup with code mandatory for cost centre.

Is there any workaround or setup for this?

it seems BC doesn't allow manual entry of dimension value using this allocation method. You could consider using a different allocation method if you intent to keep the setting for dimension mandatory.
