How I can identify what GP user id posted the inventory adjustment?

Posted on by 1,080

Hi,

How I can identify what user id posted the inventory adjustment transactions? we need to identify what GP user id has been used to post the inventory adjustment.

I have been looking all the inventory tables but there's no column for user id.

Please advice.

Thanks

The only way you can get this data is to look in the GL OR build a dex custom to trap the data during posting and write to your own table. If looking in the GL, you can start with this query:  select top 5 * from GL20000 where series = 5 and sourcdoc = 'IVADJ'  The column you are interested in is called:  USWHPSTD

You could also join the originating columns for series 5 transactions and connect to the Primary Key of the IV30300 table. You could do this easily with a SQL View. and then use Smart List builder to view the data.

    Thanks!

I understand that you are looking for a way to find out which user created the Inventory adjustment transactions. Currently, the information that you are looking for is not recorded within any of the tables in Inventory Management.

However, if you would like to keep track of this in the future, what you would need to do is to setup your Activity Tracking in Great Plains. This feature will help you keep track of the users who post transactions

Unfortunately, unless you have this feature setup prior to applying the changes on your Master files, the system will not be able to print out a report of the Users who made the changes.

    To set up activity tracking:

    1. Open the Activity Tracking Setup window, Tools |Setup |System |Activity Tracking.

    2. Select Posting Tracking as the Activity Type.

    3. Mark the Track box for the activities that you wish to keep track of.

In your case it would be Inventory Control-Transaction Entry.

    4. Select the User under the Users column.

    5. Select the Company Name or chose Mark All (if the change should apply for all companies).

*Repeat step 4-5 to apply the changes on other User IDs.

    To print the report:

    1. Go to the General System Reports (Reports | System | General).

    2. Use the Activity Tracking Detail report.

    3. Create a new report option by clicking on the NEW button.

    4. Enter a new Option name. You can set a restriction on the report based on the options that you use.

    Sort by:

    Company Name

    Restrict by these ranges:

    Company Name

    User ID

    Activity Type

    Date

*Remember to click on the Insert button to add the restriction.

    5. Set the appropriate report destination by clicking on the Destination button.

*Screen will print this to the screen.

*Printer will send the file to the printer.

*File will create a new file for this report.

Please ensure that you always have a restorable backup of your database.
