Can anyone tell me and list an example what is attribure mapping in CRM?

Hi Joe,
An attribute mapping is when you create one record FROM another record, and attributes map from the original record ot the newly created record.
Example 1: Creating a new Account, Contact, and Opportunity from a Lead --some attributes from the Lead map to each record.
Example 2: Creating a phone call from a Contact --the Contact name maps to the Recipient field on the phone call.

The thing you have to keep in mind is that you have to START on one record to get the information mapped to the other. So if you want Account info mapped onto a Contact, you have to open the Account first then Add New Contact. This is a point I need to explain to clients very often. Otherwise you can use jScript web services or workflow to populate the information.
