got error while login in D365FO environment

Hi team,
 
End User got an error while trying to login in D365FO environment.
 
 
Shall I need to add the user in System administration -- User -- add new user?   
 
it will resolve the issue ? OR I need to check some other things along with this.
 
Please give me the thoughts. thanks!

    Hello, yes, the user of course must be created into FO into Users page, the role depends on what user has to do.
    This may resolve your problem
     
    The user normally is a customer's user of course, in same tenant, if not may little be different.
     
    But your question is can be misleading, this user really is a new user? or the user already exists and cannot login?

    Yes if user doesn't exist in that F&O instance, you can validate by user's email in the users form. If user exists and still gets this error then check the URL, if user trying to access a menu item where user missing access.

    What I guess, the user is already in AD but unable to login D365FO environment. I mean user already exist in AD but not in D365FO.
     
    Suppose, if it is new user-
     
    Then we need to add user in
    Active Directory 
    D365FO - System Administration - All user - add user.
    Am I correct.
     
    Please give me the thoughts. thanks!

    User must already be exist in AD if part of the organization, if not then yes, AD and then in F&O.

    You need to import the user, creating is not enough. Go to "Import users" and a list will appear with all the entra users. Select the correct one and press OK.
    The user needs to use the same email address that is registered in Entra, otherwise it wont work. 
    Then you need to check the roles. Its best to provide the user a link that points to the default dashboard, otherwise you dont know if the user uses a link to a page where he\she doesnt have enough rights or if he\she isnt able to log in at all.

    1.You mean to say, suppose they faced issue in UAT or Sand box. So, that respective dashboard link need to provide the end user. Am I correct?
     
    2.My next questions is,  if they don't have the link either UAT or Sand box, then how they tested from their end.?
     
    Please give me the thoughts. thank you!

    Hi,
     
    When I look at your initial question and your last post, then I do assume the users already have a URL to access the environment. You are now talking about a UAT or Sandbox. In case a copy was created from production to a sandbox, by default all users except the Admin are disabled and to give access to users, the specific users should be reenabled from the All users list page.
     
    The URL that users need is either the base URL or a URL including a link to the startup page, which could be the default dashboard, the immersive home or another one that can be configured on the user options. Of course, without a URL, users don't know how to open the application.

    To solve the error you asked, the users should be created in F&O, including some role assignments and the user should be enabled.

    I would do the following checks in order to analyse the issue:
     
    1.: Is there a user record in F&O? If no, import as I described above.
    2.: Is the user logging in with the same email as in AD?
    3.: Which link is the user using to open F&O - F.e. if he is using: https://....operations.dynamics.com/?cmp=[COMPANY]&mi=ProjProjectsListPage and doesnt have access to the projects, he will get an error message. However, I am not sure if the error message in this case is the same AND usually, the user is then redirected to the defaultDashboard. Nevertheless, you can check in which environment the user logging in.
