Dynamics --> SharePoint --alternative for Name + GUID

Hi,

When we use dynamics for the first time, the folder name of sharepoint was NAME + GUID. I found a solution that the folder name can be set to name only. (Organization Settings Editor)

Now we have the problem that there are sales opportunities with the same name. This means 2 sales opportunities are linked to the same sharepoint location.

Is there an alternative to GUID in the folder name? Thanks!

    You can have a custom logic developed for this. You can have a plugin which will trigger on record create and then based on your requirement you can create folder in Sharepoint with unique name and create the respective Sharepoint Document location record in CRM so that it shows the desired path.

    Also as we cannot have same name folders in one directory the same logic applies in Sharepoint so we need to have unique name for it to work.

    Hope this helps.

    I would use flow for this scenario if writing a plugin is not an option.

    Trigger is creation of an opportunity;

    actions would be 2 types:

    1: create sharepoint location with concatenated url  <yoursharepoint>/opportunity/<name>&<opportunitycounter (or something else that identifies the record)

    2: create document location in Dynamics365 with above location and regarding is opportunity id.

    Hi Oos,

    You could use Flow for this. I've written a blog post about this solution:
