Lookup fields are showing read only after installing the managed solution

Hello,

I have a  exported my solution and imported into our QA CRM Dynamics instance. All my custom entity lookup fields are showing read only when I try to view the data from the form. ie. advance find, select custom entity, execute, create new .

There is no business rule or no lock enabled in the form. I tried to add another field with same lookup as one of field that is locked and the new field is showing correctly.

Appreciate any help to resolve this.

Thanks

I know you said you added a new lookup to the form and that worked so this might not be the answer, but are you using a role that has append / append to rights on the custom entity? If not, it'll show as locked.  I actually ran into this issue earlier in the week.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. Could you please let me know how to check / do  "role that has append / append to rights on the custom entity?"

    Hi refeekhm,

To see security roles configurations, navigate to Settings > Security > Security Roles.  Then open the security role assigned to the user you are testing with. Then click the last tab "Custom Entities".  Locate the custom entity you are after.  Each column specifies a different permission (Create, Read, Write, Delete, Append, Append To, Assign, and Share).  You can click on a circle to change the access level to (none, user, business unit, Parent: child business unit, or organization).

    Cheers,

    Nadeeja

Hi, I have a similar problem - one lookup field in a custom entity form is read only - but I can't find any reason why. I can't see in the solution that it should have been looked.

Did you find a solution to the problem in this thread?

    Regards, Zimmy
