Hi,

When an account is created from data Import ,I have to create a dialog to prompt user to which sales territory the user wants the account to be assigned to ,once the user enters the response SalesTerritory1 or SalesTerritory2 or SalesTerritory 3 , the account must be assigned to the given sales territory..

Can one use action or workflow to perform this action ?

System Wf is the best and easiest option for me..

Can you please give me suggestion , how can I do this

thanks,

Hajira

You can create a web resource that will list all the imported records and prompt user for the input either in grid or form(s).  And invoke this web resource from a command button (Command button registered on Home page of entity ).

Thank you so much for the answer .

But I want to prompt the user to what sales territory they need to connect to for each record  , so they dont actually have the need to edit them manually ..

To assign a record to a sale territory , I need to use Connect To(Connections) to do this ..So I dont think bulk edit can achieve this ...

Is there any other method to make the end user comfortable to easily connect to the particular Sales territory ?

    Thanks,

    Hjaira

    Hi-

Data Import process runs in background, when you import data file, CRM creates a system job for it and executes it in background. I don't think you would get control over it.

Instead you can create view that will list all the newly imported records without sales territory. And perform a bulk edit on entity records.

    Best Regards,

    Abhishek
