Hi All,Is there any setting to exempt taxes in Vendor/customer master ?
Our requirement is, we have some foreign vendors for whom we dont want to impose any tax in their POs or Invoices.
Though the purchasing Items has HSN codes. We are talking about Indian GST implemented D365 system.

You can easily create a sales tax group for such vendors with tax percentage 0.00
F&O-->Tax-->Indirect Taxes-->Sales Tax-->Sales tax groups
Here you can add Sales tax group EX for example for external vendors with no tax included and put the percentage/amount 0.00 and description under Name. Just remember to update the Sales tax group on the existing vendors also.

You can do the following.
--- Create a sales tax group. For example; V-ROW (Vendor - Rest of world).
--- Create appropriate sales tax code for purchasing. For example; EP (Exempt purchase) and set the percentage as "0.00"
--- Add this sales tax code in the sales tax group of V-ROW.
--- Add that sales tax group in the vendor master for that vendor.
As you know; tax will be calculated in system based on the combinations selected in sales tax group and item sales tax group in purchase order. Which means; if the tax percentage is already set to "0.00" in the sales tax code; then no tax will be calculated for this vendor.
