We have a requirement where we need to make Dimension not editable in ledger account if Default Dimension is fixed in Make account.

In main account master we have option to fix default dimension.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Start ax,

What is the exact question here? In case you are looking for a configuration option, then this is not available. You then would need to consider a customization. This might be cumbersome as an extensible control is used where you would need to investigate how to hook in.

As the fixed dimension will overrule the dimension during the posting anyway, there is no real need to block it. However, if you would block it for editing, it would be a bit clearer to an end user.

Thanks Andre for suggestion. we will check option as you suggested.

As the fixed dimension will overrule the dimension during the posting anyway, there is no real need to block it.

Let me try explain the requirment once again.

In main account form we have option to fix the dimension

If any Main account with Fixed dimension is selected in journal lines user cant change dimension in journal lines.

Hope this will give you some more clarity.

    Hi Start ax,

Thanks for your reply. I understood the requirement, but it would be not an easy development to achieve it. That is why I also mentioned a (less user-friendly) workaround.

    Hi,

I did not get the need of it, Fixed dimension means even if you change anything, nothing will happen, only the fixed dimensions will take from the setup and post.

So, why you want to restrict as you already know, they can change but nothing will happen.
