Good Day
I am trying to create a new budget register entry, but the auto budget register entry number that is there by default already exists.
Do I need to do something with the number sequence under budget parameters? If yes how do I change it?
Regards
Angel AX
Hello Angel AX,
You are right about the number sequence. If you want to modify the number sequence then do a right click and select 'view details'. This opens the number sequence and you can modify the string and e.g. add a suffix/prefix, etc.
By the way, why do you want to change that number sequence?
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hello Ludwig
Thank you for you response.
I don't want to change the number sequence, all I need is a solution to resolve my problem of the duplicate register entry number.
I don't know why AX is trying to use an already existing budget register entry number.
Do you know why this happens?
Its best for me to understand why it happens and how should i fix it.
Thanks and Regards
Ah, I see.
Got you wrong then.
What you can do is
(1) Navigate to the number sequence and check if a number is pending in the status field. If something is pending, delete the record
(2) In the number sequence form, check what value has been selected in the next field and possibly increase it to the next higher number. When doing that you will get a warning that you need to confirm.
Once you have (1) and (2) completed, test again.
Hi AngelAX,
It happens when your number sequence setup is continuous. So when you create new record in budget register entry and delete it without any entry in it or completing it. It be stored in status list with status free.
Allocated number will become free based on clean up interval set in number sequence. It will be available again later.
To avoid this don't use continuous if not required. Please let me know if you have any questions on this.
Dear Ludwig and Jay
Thank you so much for the information.
An automatic cleanup has already been setup.
I had to do a manual cleanup on the number sequence, which didn't help. I then went back in under general and clicked stopped and then continuous again. This resolved my problem.
In summary the cleanup with the extra step of selecting stopped and continuous again helped resolve the issue.
Thank you gentlemen for your insight to helping me resolve my issue. Highly appreciated.
