CRM for Outlook in RDS

Hello All,


I'm currently testing CRM for Outlook in our RDS environment, everthing works well apart fromerrors when tracking emails. I have narrowed this down to the fact that we use Outlook in 'Online' mode in the environment and have 'Cached Exchange Mode' turned off. Which I see this is unsupported.

Has anyone else come accross this and have a sutible workaround?

My next step will be to look at our RDS setup to try to accomidate but feel that it will be trial and error and could ultimatly not resolve the issue. Also if you have any advice on sutiable setups it would be much appreciated.

    Hi Tom,

    Unfortunately you are right. CRM for Outlook does not support non-cache (or Online) Exchange mode.

    Thanks for your reply. Do you have any documentation of the recommended setup in RDS using roaming profiles for CRM for Outlook with Cached Exchange mode switched on?

    Hi,

    We are in the process of upgrading our W2008 RDS servers to W2012 and upgrading CRM 2011 to 2016 at the same time. We are experiencing difficulties with the Outlook Client for Office 2013. Basically the CRM does not load when we initially start. It takes 3 minutes for Outlook to start; once it starts CRM errors with:

    The set of folders cannot be opened.

    Something went wrong while trying to communicate with Dynamics CRM.

    Restarting Outlook solves the problem.

    Has anyone experienced the same issue? Any recommendations on the setup of CRM for Outlook on RDS servers?
