Hello Experts,

We wanted to migrate entities, scripts and workflows, from our CRM 4.0 application to CRM 2016 online or CRM  365 online. Is it possible?

I really hope this can be possible

Best regards,
Bernal Bogantes Conejo!

Your understanding is correct, if you are thinking upgrading in same instance you have to upgrade CRM 4.0 to 2011  and then 2013. Once your upgrade done in 2013 most of the JS customization will work in D365 version.

If there is not much customisations, I would suggest to go with a new installation and then customise in D365. After that you can import the data. If heavy customisation is present then there might be multiple issues during upgrade.

So you think it´s better go through CRM 4.0 migrate to 2011 then 2011 go to 2013 and then go in the same way between CRM Versions until get to D365?

    Hi BerConejo24,

From CRM4.0 to D365 Online there are so many UI/ Logic changes between Dynamics CRM 4.0, 2011, 2013, 2015 or 2016 & D365 Online. There must be conflicts if you directly migrate scripts and workflows.

While you could refer to the following step to migrate the entities data by Import Wizard , Scribe & SSIS

    crmbook.powerobjects.com/.../select-a-tool-to-use

    community.dynamics.com/.../291898

    Hope the above would help.

    Regards

    Johnny
