How to increase the string length in Table

Hi,

      Can u give me a solution on how to clear the below mentioned error

    It is not advisable to play with primary key definition in the entire Dynamics NAV.

    Now there are two option,

    1. Revert to 20 again.

    2. Increase the length of the No. from 20 to 30 everywhere (not advisable, cause you should know how many objects and code needs to be changed).

    You need to take care of this in entire NAV process flow where this value will b getting post updated.

    Hello MDN 2013,

    you can increase the size of No field in table 99000771 - Production BOM Header but it is not recommended. Because many other tables have dependency on that.

    Yes we have increased the primary key field length from 20 to 30.

    Have you have increased the length of primary key of production BOM from 20.
