Quick Search is not working

Hello Community,

I am facing an odd issue. A user has claim that a product lookup does not return a value when he applied a search in this lookup.

I have tested the same search in the test environment and I got the following error msg : "There are more search results than can be displayed. Try adding more search terms (such as last name) to narrow your search results."

which is normal due to the number of results returned by the search term. MeanWhile, in the prod environment the same search term does not return any error msg or results. 

I wonder why the error msg is not displayed?

    Hi Don Salazar,

    This is due to Quick find search limitation for better performance. By default in CRM will Search upto 10K records only. In order to do More search then you need to o following steps

    1. Setting -> Adminstration -> System Setting

    2. Enable Quick Find record limits set No

    By this way you can do more searching but it reduce the performance.

    Thank you for the reply.

    The issue that i have is when I use a term search that will return more than 10 000 records, there is no message like the following 

    Example : 

    - search by the term 'salazar peer' => there is no result & no error message.

    - search by the term 'salazar peer pvc' => the system return 3 records.

    After catching the sql request I found that using 'salazar peer', the system return more than 10000 records => So If I am understanding this correctly, I should have the error message above
