SL 2011 and SharePoint Integration - Native Only?

Posted on by

Just completed configuring SL 2011 FP1 for use with our SQL 2012 SSRS and all seems to have gone OK.  This is a reporting server setup in Native mode.  Does SL support integrating with an SSRS instance in SharePoint integration mode instead of native mode?

OK Thanks for the response.  I assume you are referring to Business Analyzer being new.  Both Quick Query and SharePoint integrated SSRS have been out for a while.

Thanks again - Please keep me posted.

    Tom,

With this feature being so new there is not a lot of information we have gathered about it yet. We are currently researching this exact situation for multiple other people. I will add you to the list of people to contact once this research is complete. I am sorry we do not have an answer ready, but we are working on it.

Yes those two, Quick Query and BA, are the ones I have in mind.  We also do a lot of other reporting directly from SL tables that I'm looking to move into SSRS.  Would be nice to use the SharePoint integrated mode rather than native as we can then arrange and secure our reports in SharePoint, where our users are already comfortable.  Just wondering how that might affect SL's interaction wtih SSRS.  Thanks.

    Tom,

What specifically are you looking to integrate? Business Analyzer and/or The button in Quick Query, or something else entirely?
