Update script for service model: ALMService Maximum wait time of '3600' reached

Hi,
 
I am getting this error while trying to update a local VHD from 10.0.43 --> PQU 10.0.45 (latest)
 
Executing step: 21
Update script for service model: ALMService on machine: localhost
Maximum wait time of '3600' reached, process was force killed
The step failed
 
Although I already did it on another machine and it successfully completed, on this machine it is failing. There are no differences between the 2 machines.
 
Any clue?

    Have you already tried to retry/resume the deployment? Is someone using the VM with Remote Desktop and have e.g. Visual Studio open?

    I noticed the issue, you are right. The application was open in browser with "Session ended" screen. After closing the browser, It ran successfully after rerunning it from step21.
     
    But it's strange, since the AOS service was already ended before the step21, nothing should have been blocking the update script.

    Update:
    After Step21 it again got stuck on later step. Then I switched to d365fo.tools for the the upgrade and it completed succesfully using it.
