Item Quantities Maintenance - Default Site ID

Hi All,

I am having difficulties to assign site as a default site ID to an inventory item.  I have done the following.

1) Assign the site to the item

2) Added Default Site ID

Getting error This site cant be the default site for the item. You must assign the site to the item first using the Sites Field.

But as I mentioned earlier I have assigned the site to the item.

So I selected the item and select Site ID check box and press the look up button to see all the assigned site, and found the site which I assigned its not shown.  Also when i went to Item Quantity Master this record is showing but the RCRDTYPE for this Inventory Site combination is 1 instead of 2.  And when I update this record on the table then I am able to make this site as default site.  I have around 2K records with this issue on this table.  Before I fix this I wanted to know what might have caused this issue.  Have any of you experienced this situation at any point if so please share your experience so that I can identify the issue.  So far I have ran check link and reconcile inventory items with no luck.

    Hi Babu,

This sounds interesting, have you noticed anything else that is consistent with these items apart from the RCRDTYPE?

    Regards

    Rosemary

    Babu,

In the IV00102 table RCRDTYPE = 1 indicates the overall record, quantity totals for all sites, and should not be updated to a specific site.  RCRDTYPE = 2 is a site specific ID, and the fact that you're not seeing any records in the IV00102 table with that RCRDTYPE means something went wrong when you assigned items to that site.

I would suggest setting your overall record back to what it was before you updated it or restoring a backup, then running the assign site process again.  Go to Inventory > Cards > Site, then call up your default/main site and click the Assign Button, then select the appropriate range of items and click ok.  If you don't select a specific range you'll get prompted that it will update them all, say ok to process.

    Hi Rose,

No nothing else I could find on this, but I checked all these items created date and all these were old more than 10 year ago and it doesn't have any new items.

    Hi Harry,

Thanks for your kind reply.  Yes there is another record on the same table with RCRDTYPE for all site and in addition to that this also was there.  Since I dont know when this happened and all these inventory items created more than 10 years ago I going to update these directly on table so that I can make the site as default.
