Read PSA Project Date Format Error

Using D365 Online Project Service Automation with 2020 Wave 1 Enabled, Microsoft Project Professional 2016 Version 1908

I have a Project created in PSA, with project tasks / WBS set up in PSA with UK Date format for start and end dates i.e. dd/mm/yyyy. My user's personal settings are set with this date format, as are the global system settings. In MS Project i also have the exact same date format settings.

When I connect MS Project to Dynamics, and then try to read from existing Project Service project i get the following error: "The date you entered isn't supported for this field."

Some example dates in the PSA tasks include 13th May 2020, which is 13/05/2020 in UK date format.

If i change all dates so that they do not occur beyond the 12th day of the month then the project imports successfully and with the correct dates i.e. the 6th of May formatted as 06/05/2020 imports still as the 6th May 2020 to MS Project rather than as the 5th June.

Any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue?

This issue is reproducible in vanilla organization as well.

If the task in a Project record is defined in the format "dd/MM/yyyy", machine is in UK format "dd/mm/YYYY", in MS Project its not validating as a format "dd/mm/YYYY" but as "mm/dd/YYYY". That is when, if we have a task with date defined as 13/05/2020, it is not treating it as a correct format and throwing error as month is not more than 12 leading to error "The date you entered isn't supported for this field".

Its already identified as a known issue and next release of MS Project addin should contain a fix for this.

If this is helpful, kindly mark this as verified.

I created a new project from MS Project, then I synced it to PSA, if I made any change to WBS in PSA (e.g. add a resource) I won't be able to open again in MS Project.

I get the error "The date you entered isn't supported for this field."

Why at the very beginning it works and afterwards anymore?

Thanks for confirming. My Organization is also vanilla. Do you happen to know when the next version of the MS Project addin might be available? The current version was released in February 2020 and this bug effectively makes the addin unusable for all users in the UK and perhaps other regions with the same date format.

    Hi Farook,

Latest addin is published on 5th June and available for users. Please download from like www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx and this will fix your issue.

If this is helpful, please mark this as verified.
