My client ran inventory year end closing in one of their companies after 2012 had already begun and they had sales for 2012. This has caused the summary numbers for items to be off for 2012/2011 because it is not date sensitive when you run this closing procedure. I know there is a reconcile utility when this happens in payables year end closing that you can run to get your AP / Vendor balances in line. Is there such a tool for Inventory in GP 2010 so that item YTD sales this year/last year in the summary screens will be correct again, or is there a way the balances can be fixed?

Hi thanks for the replies Brian, LVail, and Dan... I discovered that the table it reads for that GP windows is IV030101. Its the Inventory item customer summary. After the closing of teh inventory control the open data gets moved to this table. From the looks of it, SQL scripting would be only way to really "rollback". I am in need of any risks, tables, etc. that need to touched also.
You can change the Sales Quantity, Cost and Sales fields and not have them change. It doesn't make sense as to why, but those numbers do not change when reconciling or even check links. I do not know the table those are stored in, off hand, so I am not sure a back end SQL script could populate.

This is a great question. I had this issue earlier in the year. Luckily, I had a backup and hadn't entered too many transactions in the year so I was able to use my backup and re-enter my current year transactions. Do you have a backup available?
