How to import Excel file using Custom action

Hello,

I want create records in multiple entities by reading through excel sheet . Can we achieve this by creating custom work flow and action . Please suggest how to read excel data to action and custom workflow.

    Hi Krishna Prasad,

    Do you want to read data from excel file and import on regular basis ? If that is the case you can create SSIS package or else use plugin.

    If it's one time approach then create console application, read file and create record using Iorganization service.

    In Excel there will be entity name and specific columns will be mentioned based on that i need to records in multiple entities and need to handle some custom logic while creating records . For this i need to add button on form and show dialog window to select file .For this we achive by attach excel file to some entity and trigger custom workflow amd read data in customflow of that attachment?

    Not plugin i need to implement in custom workflow as there can be many records while creatinv records. Is there any sample code for excel data ?

    plugin or custom workflow, you need server side development to customize the data import (read all data of excel file).

    I was able to create contact records from Excel but when trying to link account record to contact record getting error .To update contact iam mapping company name with account id primary key but this is causing problem as company name is lookup field .please suggest how to map company name lookup field in update record action.
