Limit Export to Excel quantities per Security Role

Hi All,

I want to limit the export capability for certain users. For example I want a manager to be able to export all contact data, but limit the number of rows a sales person can export.

I want to minimise the risk of data leaving the company.

Is there any way of doing this?

There's no way to get this level of detailed control. The best you can do is control who has permission to export to Excel, but there's no way to limit which entities, or to restrict the number of records that could be export.

Someone may suggest using a plugin, which could be used to apply conditional logic on what can be retrieved, but several export mechanism (e.g. dynamic worksheet, or exporting a report to Excel) bypass plugins
