How to create and use Outbound Ports in Dynamics AX 2012

Hello everyone,

I would like to create an Outbound Port in Dynamics AX 2012 to send data to an external system. I have worked a lot with Inbound Ports before and I am experienced on that side. However, I have never worked with Outbound Ports, so I am not sure how to proceed.

Could you please explain the steps on how to set up an outbound port and send data to an external system? Any example scenarios or experiences would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for your response.

I looked at all the links you provided, but I don't think they'll be helpful.
I want to send data to a website URL, but none of the links specify a web URL.

    Best Regards.

There will be a button in the sales order form. When we click this button, I want the relevant data related to that line to go to a website via an outbound web service.

Do you already know the details about how your website is going to accept the document?

Here is an example of HTTP adapter, that shows you can send an AIF message to a target address https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/archive/blogs/dynamics-coe/outbound-http-adapter-for-aif-in-dynamics-ax-2012

If you cannot do it in x++ , you can always use the c# to send your message to any address using different protocols

    Thanks for response.

The website will accept data in XML format, it is not possible without writing C# code, is that so?

    Best Regards.

You seem to mean that you want to call an external web service on a button click and pass some data into it. If so, what you need is Consuming Web Services.
