Videos in email templates

Hi I’m new to this system and have found some of the content types in the email builder a bit old fashioned. does anyone know if there are planned improvements to the video content type so it will pull through thumbnail etc when you enter a YouTube link like in click dimensions? Also any plans to introduce a social media content type?
