Auto charges on Return Order

Hello,

I need to apply auto charges on those customers who have auto charges attached to them on Return Order Invoice. Auto charges are automatically attached to them on Sales order invoice beacuse on Customer Form I have attached Auto Charges in Sales Order Defaults tab but no configuration I see for Return Order. Can somebody please guide me if there is any configuration available or any code?

Hi Hafiz Usama,

Can you let us know you you specified the auto charges that you use for sales orders? How have you setup those, what charge groups did you setup and how did you setup the auto charge lines?

Hey Ludwig Reinhard,

1) In Accounts Receivable -> Setup -> Charges ->Charges Code, I created charges.

2) In Auto charges I created New Auto charges with Account Code Group and selected specific group and in lines I added the charges that I created in step 1.

3) On Customer Form in Sales Oder Defaults Tab, In charges group I selected auto charges that i created in step 2.

Now, Charges are automatically applied on Sales Order Invoices but not on Return Order. I want charges to be applied on Return Orders too.

Hi Hafiz Usama,

I double checked that and believe that this does not work that way as the sales order search form does not allows specifying whether charges should be kept or not.

An alternative would be to link the charge code to your disposition code that you have to specify when processing the return order.

Have you tried that?

Hi Hafiz,

You could also add charges to the return reason code, It will apply to that Return order level like applying charges Sales order level not line level.

Ludwig Reinhard,

I can't link my disposition code to charges as charges are not to be applied for every customer. They are for a specific group. Can i somehow do it by code?

I am registering disposition code using code and charges are to be applied to only customers belong to specific group. So its not possible. Any other solution?

Hi Hafiz Usama,

you could setup customer group specific disposition codes to create a kind of workaround. Yet, the risk is that users will select the wrong one. So the best option that I can see is implementing a small system adjustment. Let's please also wait for the feedback of Paranjothi S whether he has the same opinion or can identify an alternative option/workaround.

There is no work around, We should go with a small system adjustment (Customization).
