Can we edit the line numbers in the sales quotation.

I tried editing the line numbers in the sales quotation for which the system does not allow us to do. We are looking for an option to edit them as it allows in the sales orders.

Our requirement is to have the same line numbers that we receive from our customers as in quotation. Is there any way to do the line number editable.

Hi HarshithaR,

I just looked into the SalesQuotationLine table and there is no customerlinenum field.

For me it's not possible to do this in standard, you need to make a customisation.

Just add a field in the SalesQuotationLine table and transfer it during the creation of the salesline.

In SalesQuotationLine table there is a filed "Linenumber" which is not editable in our case. If that is enabled for edit then the user can add the line number as it is required. In the sales orders page line number is editable, as we expect that in sales quotations also this line numebr should be enabled.

In the sales quotation through insert columns i added linenumber filed and tried editing in the field. Reference screen shot below.

Be careful because on the sales order lines there are two line numbers :

One is technical and no editable like in Sales Quotation Line, and the second one is the customerlinenum which is editable.

They have got the same name but it's not the same thing.
