New GP 2016 auto post cash receipts from AR feature

Hello!

I am testing out the new GP 2016 auto post AR cash receipts feature. You enter a cash receipt in AR and post it and it will auto post it through bank rec and the GL.

However, in my testing it stops at bank rec. When I post the cash receipt in AR I get the error "Some deposits were not completed; view them in the Bank Deposit Entry window”. I tried this with a cash receipt, check receipt etc. made no difference.

The company Options Setup window has the "Automatically post cash receipt deposits" checkbox marked. The posting setup also has both the AR cash receipts set to post To and Through the GL, the same with the Bank Deposits window and Bank Transactions. Yet, I keep getting the above error and it simply creates the deposit which I then have to go post in the Bank Deposit window.

Anyone run into this yet?

    Hi Amy,

    Yes, after running a DEXSQL log of the error, I noticed it was looking at Multi-Currency tables before generating this error in the test environment (happened in live as well of course). So I decided to enable Multi-Currency in the test environment to see what happened and then everything worked peachy :)

    I reached out to Microsoft and they said that is why they recommend everyone have Multicurrency enabled even if they are not using it:

    "We are advising users to have MC registered, enabled and a functional currency set, going forward after the GP2013 release.  Users do not have to use MC but the setting should be on to avoid issues where code is expecting a currency ID."

    One thing I will note is that if you decide to enable Multi-Currency in the registration is that you also have to run check links on the Multi-Currency Setup which for some customers can take hours and hours.

    In short, the Cash receipts auto post does not work unless you have Multi-Currency enabled and a functional currency set in the Multi-Currency Setup window.
