Intercompany error after BC v.27 upgrade.

After upgrading Business Central from version 26.5 to 27, we are experiencing that when we receive an intercompany transaction in the inbox, both the header and the lines are empty. The same applies to the journal lines. In practice, this concerns two companies located in two different databases, but within the same tenant. Could this be caused by the Microsoft extension "API – Cross Environment Intercompany" not being updated with the new enum objects, and still expecting option fields?

    Yes, the issue is likely due to the “API – Cross Environment Intercompany” extension not being updated for Business Central v27, which replaced many Option fields with Enum objects. If the extension still expects Option values, it cannot interpret the new Enum data, causing empty headers and lines in intercompany inbox and journals.
     
    The fix is to update the extension to a version compatible with v27 or refactor any custom code to use Enums.
     
    Until then, consider a temporary workaround like disabling cross-environment intercompany or using a sandbox on the previous version.

    Ensure both databases use the same updated version of the extension.
     
    Recompile any custom IC code using enum types, not option/text.
     
    If both sides are updated and the issue persists → log a Microsoft support ticket (possible BC 27 bug).

    After v27, more fields moved from Option to Enum. If updates don’t fix it, open a Microsoft support ticket; there have been cross‑environment IC delivery issues reported.

    Hi,

    If one environment is running an older version, and the other one is updated to the latest version, then the integration can break exactly as you’re seeing. 

    Check if both the environments are on the same version. Else you may need to open a Microsoft support ticket as it is a Microsoft-managed app.
