Drop Down Field on Retail POS report

We are looking to have a drop-down menu after selecting our "Store Sales by Category" report in POS. The drop-down menu will include the options of different categories for our products and help us to filter the results. We are not sure what information is needed in the Retail channel reports configuration in back office so it can properly display the dropdown.
