Document Attach scanning change default file type from .tiff to .pdf

Client is on GP2018R2 and recently started using doc attach in GP.  When scanning the doc type defaults to .tiff and they want it to default to .pdf so they don't have to change it at every scan.  Where would I go to change that?

Thanks!

Deb

    Hello Deborah,

I'm curious if your scanner is using the WIA or TWAIN driver?

The reason I ask is, with WIA, documents and images are stored as a Tagged Image File Format or TIF/TIFF – one of the most used image file formats.

Whereas, TWAIN lets you scan an image (using a scanner ) directly into an application (such as Adobe PDF).

The change from WIA to TWAIN was added into the mid-year updates for Dynamics GP 2018 last June, if I remember correctly, which, if you're on R2 or higher, you should have that functionality.

I don't have a scanner readily available to test, but let me see if I can find out anything more, as well as the community here on the forums, and see what we can figure out.

    Thank you
