Budget Amount

 Hi ,

AX 2012 R3

User created budget register entry  with budget amount $10000 for the Financial Year 01/01/2015 for an expense account -Cleaning Expenses . Now when user posting (12/14/15 ) the a journal voucher system throws error amount exceeded the budget amount by $700.

Now in this if user wants increase the budget amount by $2000 ( $10000+ $2000)  for the cleaning expense account what is the process ?

What is the way to revise the existing budget amount or does user need to post the new budget entry ?

    Hello Lally,

    You can either increase the budget for your cleaning expense by recording a new budget register entry that transfer unused budget amounts from other budgets (-> use the budget rransfer functionality) or by increasing the budget amount registered before. In any case you should ensure that the change can be tracked e.g. by using a different budget code.

    Once you register the budget amount, system does not allow to make any changes . Can i know how can we increase the budget amount which is already registered?

    Hello lally,

    Have you tried recording an additional budget register entry for the very same main account - fiancial ledger dimension combination but with a different budget code / type?

    This should increase the total amount budgeted for your cleaning expense and allow you posting the transaction.

    I understood from your post that we need to create the new budget register entry for the exceed amount .

    But you were suggesting that we can increase the budget amount which is already registered, Can you enlight me about that process ?

    Hello lally,

    Well, I think we are talking about the same thing :-)

    Your initial budget for cleaning expense is 10000$.

    Let's say you record this budget amount for your main account no. 12345.

    If your remaining budget left for this account is 100$ and you enter a new budget register entry for another 5000$ you increase the total budget amount and have 5100$ left.

    The total amount budgeted for account no. 12345 is then 15000$.
