In a BC 23.6 version the help button does not work.

Hi, If you click the help button (?), it doesn't seem to work, but pressing Tab and Enter will run the help action.
The layout where the help appears isn't displayed, but internally it is. If you press F12 in the browser and view the HTML code, you can see that the "Help and Support" action is hidden.

Please, I would appreciate any feedback on this so I can try to avoid having to update the version.

    ✅ Solution Steps:

    • Clear the browser cache completely (Ctrl+Shift+Del → select “Cached images and files”).
    • Try in a different browser (preferably Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome).
    • Test the same user in incognito/private window.
    • If it's a self-hosted (On-Prem) BC, ensure you're not behind a proxy or firewall that might block static UI files.
    • If it's SaaS (Cloud), go to another environment (Sandbox or Production) and test if the issue persists there.
If it not works, then you should report it via Microsoft support or your partner.

Mark this as verified if it helps you.

Try on some different Browser or in Incognito mode..
    Try with some different credentials.

Is system giving any error messages or just it's not working?

I have encountered similar problems in NAV.
If changing the browser does not solve the problem, try reinstalling the BC client. This may be due to missing files or settings during the installation process.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

Agree with the previous response, Reinstalling BC Client can often fix such problems.

    Greetings !

If you're working with an on-premises Business Central server, try reinstalling the Help components on the client machine.

You’ll also need to determine whether the issue originates from the client PC or the server.

    We have below installation components
Client Components ( Help server is inside this component
    Web Server Components
    Database Components
    Web Service Components

As part of the troubleshooting process, consider running a repair or performing a clean reinstallation of the affected components.

If your query is answered , please mark it as Answered and Verified .

    Hi, good day
I hope this can help you, and give you some hints.

OnPrem has the fix in the upcoming CU (available from 4th of October: v23.12 and v24.6).
