Issue: GP looks fine on most screens, but the Master Posting screen has tiny text that is difficult to read. User reported getting MS updates and thought this might be the cause. No reports in over one month's time of anyone else having this issue. It had been working fine previously and no other known changes had been made (new applications, drivers, hardware, etc).
These updates had been applied within a day or two of the issue arising:
- KB2830477
- KB2857650
- KB2893519
- KB2862152
- KB2868626
- KB2875783
- KB2876331
- KB2888505
- KB2900986
We tried the following:
- Held control, and mouse wheel in the screen to see if it was similar to I.E. and other such browsers
- Modified DPI font percentages in Windows
- In the registry, replaced the sans serif font with a different one like this post mentioned
- Updated the video card driver on the user's machine
- Copied a "working" machine's gp2010 folder over the same folder on the "bad" machine
Thoughts:
- Updates went through whole company; unlikely to affect one user.
- User was using Logmein on her home computer to access her work computer and use the GP application. This is an occasional activity but had occurred the evening prior to the issue.
- A month after the issue began, the same user repeated her logmein use and the next morning, GP was fine again.
- I've seen references to issues with GP2013 and Terminal Services 2008. It does not directly indicate a remote access issue, but, I am including it to be thorough.
User is keeping me posted, but in case anyone else has issues with tiny print on only some screens of GP, it COULD be related to remote connectivity. Will report back if we find anything more concrete.
