How are other users/clients compensating for losing some of the workflow capabilities since R2?  It seems that many will be returning in 2015, but unclear on how companies are handling or are you postponing upgrade until 2015?

What loss are you referring to? If you use the type of workflows that aren't available inside GP 2013 R2 you still can use workflow on SharePoint.

    RE: GP2013 R2 -- Workflow changes

I can agree that there are several points which were provided and totally covered as a basic functionality in the previous Business Portal - Requisition Management workflow, which are not covered in the newly designed workflow engine. Although, I may look at this point from a positive perspective, this has been a great added value by breaking the dependency on SharePoint. In several previous installations of Business Portal, clients criticized about the fact they SharePoint requires hard ware prerequisite which they don't really need to afford.

By now, you have a completely dependent workflow engine build in Dynamics GP going smoothly with the newly web architecture. Although there have been several glitches in the process design, the overall initial version seems promising for me. Several clients of us currently complaint about many design processes being considered as bugs. Requisition management module data is not retrieved by other modules like inventory (requisition quantity on the item stock inquiry), or the commitment.   I have previously discussed these details with few community members on:

    1. Requisitioned total not changing in Item Inquiry
    2. GP 2013 R2 Purchase Requisition Workflow

In the end, I can still believe that future releases will absolutely deliver and meet the high expectation of the clients. The key to that is always to share our votes and concerns on the MS Connect. Previously, I have seen a complete proposal on the MS connect regarding the business process of the requisition management, check there and add your vote to make a difference
